Onyeka Onwenu was born on January 31st, 1952 in Obosi, Anambra State in southeastern Nigeria. She was born into a large Roman Catholic family and was the fourth of six children. Sadly, her husband passed away in 2009. Onwenu is survived by her son Tijani Jr. and extended family members including her siblings Richard, Kelechi, Bright, Uche, and Ngozi Onwenu. At the time of her death, she resided in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital city where she had lived for many decades.
